Update: Police Activity At Gateway Gardens On Sunday 2/10/13

We originally reported heavy police activity occurred at the Gateway Gardens development, on Lowndes Avenue in Huntington Station starting around 1:30 pm Sunday, February 10, 2013. Approximately ten Suffolk squad cars were on the scene and police were seen entering the complex. The roadway was closed due to the police activity. A local resident who was walking back to the complex where he lives was not allowed to return to the building. The resident was told by police that it was an active crime scene.

Second Precinct Police Officers were in the area looking for a man with warrants who was reported to be in a residence. Upon investigation it was discovered that he was not in the residence.  He was not arrested so police are still looking for him. The warrants were for Criminal Contempt for violating orders of protection.
