Just our opinion:
After seeing the above photo do you really need to ask why the Huntington Station revitalization can’t move forward? At the press conference Supervisor Petrone said that he wants people to come and walk the plaza. At least that’s what we think he said because we couldn’t hear well over the heavy traffic volume. If we heard correctly Supervisor Petrone said the entire project cost $800,000. We wonder how many first time home buyers could have received down payment assistance to buy a home nearby. This is something that would lead to true revitalization. It probably is just about enough money to open the STEM school. (Yes we know, it’s not the same funds).
All in all it wasn’t a total waste. It caused Legislator D’Amaro to show his face in Huntington Station. I think the last time we saw him, he was promising to clean up the crime in Huntington Station before we ended up closing our school. We predict he’ll be back along with a few others, knocking people over to get in a photo with the adored HUFSD Superintendent Jim Polansky if and when the new STEM school opens.
From the looks on their faces in the photos, do you want to risk the traffic and endure the noise to have a seat there?
Disclaimer: We really do not hold any of this against the artist. She clearly put her heart and soul into creating something for our community. In a different time and place, this is something that would have been cherished by all. She is just a victim of being tied to these inept leaders, just like the rest of us.

Was Pius looking out his window and laughing that we paid $800,000 for this project to spruce up his place. It does look a lot better, can’t wait till the trees fill-out and overgrow his building/apartments.
Really, $800,000. Maybe D’Amarco can come out for the Unity parade since he only comes for photo opportunities. Sad that he can’t clean up the station, I guess those were only promises to get elected, figures. Again, really, $800,000.

Inept leaders? Like the ones who got the Target store to take over the abandoned Lowe’s project at Huntington Town House property? Like the leaders who brought in Canon Corporation to the town? Like the leaders who brought the successful Paramount Theater to town to renovate a dilapidated building? Like the leaders who support the best summer arts fesival on Long Island? I could go on and on but you just need to criticize everything the town board does but you don’t offer any solutions or alternatives. I am convinced that nothing will make the Huntingtonian happy. You can’t admit it but Huntington is probably the best town in the state of New York in terms of services, culture, public works infrastructure, housing and eonomy. Why don’t you work for the opposing candidates and if they defeat Mr. Petrone and his team we’ll see how you like the new town government. (You won’t).

BLUNDA BOY – Huntington’s favorite Democrat Stooge!
If you think building another box-store employing part-time workers at minimum wage on a key piece of land is good –
If you think the Canon disaster, where workers drive in and drive out and never spend any of their money in the surrounding businesses, and the place went up at the expense of the environment for the last piece of open land –
If you think a theater which privatizes public parking lots for their events where kids have been hospitalized and local businesses have complained about vandalism and noise, not to mention the homes in the area –
Huntington and Babylon have the same population – yet Huntington has double the number of employees!!! You must be one for sure.

@Equtas: No need to mock my screen name or me. It only demonstrates your anger, ignorance and lack of class. I could respond to and refute each of your statements but you don’t care about the truth and only want to demean and criticize people who are smarter than you. (P.S. I am a Republican, a Vietnam War vet and not a government employee.)

Wonder pet!!!! I missed you!!!!Just in time for the 2013 election cycle my favorite lapdog is being sent out to “go get em” at the Huntingtonian. Not so insignificant huh…..what a shame you are so wrapped up in being a lapdog you can’t see what is right in front of your face. This is a failure. The efforts would have been applauded if it wasn’t such a very obvious smoke and mirrors slight of the hands trick.
Justify why a local artist was not used.
Justify the $800,000 price tag on top of the $1.5 MILLION price to take down the old Tilden Brakes building that is now the empty lot that sits next to the pawn shop with the whore house in the rear (pun intended) by the way there is a NEW whore house in town….great economic development!
Back to the Tilden Brakes debacle….remember when we were told there were all sorts of business proposals that put in bids for the spot about 4 elections ago???? The town hall PR department made it sound like they were banging down the doors to get that parcel of property (one was Starbucks but they ran outta here like they had too much caffeine and needed a potty break)…oh and lets not forget how the grant that was secured by Mr Conte (God rest his soul) part of the stipulations of the grant was we had to have it occupied (the building they tore down) by a certain date or the Town of Huntington would not be reimbursed by the state? That leaves us another $1.5 MILLION dollars screwed. So convenient to forget such details. Of course you remember wonderpet!!!! You lay your head on the lap of the master on know exactly what is going on.
