STEM Will Open In Huntington SD for 2013 School Year

Filed under: Huntington Union Free School District,News |

At the July 2, reorganization meeting of the Huntington School District Board of Education meeting, it was announced that the proposed STEM School will open at the Jack Abrams School for the 2013-3014 school year. It is still unknown if the grants that were applied for will be received and this will not be known until September 30th.  At this point they feel they have enough money to operate the school without the grants if necessary. The teachers who will be staffing the school are current employees of the district.  If the grants are not received, it is possible that Superintendent Jim Polansky or Dr. Card will serve as the school’s Principal.  The letters to the students who have been selected by lottery to attend the school will be mailed home tomorrow morning.

Please check back for updates.
