Threatening Substance Mailed To Canine Corral In Huntington Station

On Friday,  August 23,  at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the Canine Corral, located at 1845 NY Ave., Huntington Station, a female employee opened a letter which was delivered by US mail addressed to the business. The letter contained a threat and an unknown dirty brown or black powder-like substance. The threat was directed at the business and the employees who work there.

Suffolk County Police cordoned off the area for approximately 3 hours. Emergency Services and the Arson Squad responded to the scene. Upon arrival Emergency officers tested the substance and found it to be non-hazardous.

Second Squad detectives are investigating. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
