Huntington’s STEM School Will Move Forward Without Additional Grant Funding

Filed under: Around Town,Huntington Union Free School District,News |

Huntington School District officials recently learned that they will not be receiving the grant they were hoping for.  Below is a statement from HUFSD Superintendent Jim Polansky.

As discussed, since the decision was made in early July to initiate the STEM Magnet program, we knew that all was already in place to move forward with fidelity.  As a result, students, staff and parents are thrilled with their experiences thus far.  Although one federal award did not come through, we are waiting on several others and have applied for a number of additional federal, state and private grants since.  Furthermore, we have been able to take advantage of grant monies already received and corporate partnerships already secured.  It has been an exciting start for the school and that excitement is sure to continue!
