Archives MonthIn honor of New York State Archives Month, Huntington Town Board recently presented Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia with a proclamation.

“Archives Month has been observed nationwide since the 1980’s, to spotlight the history of different communities” said Town Clerk and Records Management Officer, Jo-Ann Raia.

The Huntington Town Clerk’s Archives joins the many organizations across the United States in bringing America’s history to life, by featuring exhibits, presentations and by holding open house events. Our Open House event this year has been scheduled Monday – Friday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm for the entire month of October, except Friday, October 4, Tuesday, October 15 and Monday, October 21.

Interested parties are welcome to visit the Archives, view some of our impressive manuscripts as well as getting to know us and the work we do. The purpose of the Archives is to collect, preserve and provide access to the permanent records generated by the various departments of Town Hall.
