Huntington Softball Hall of Fame Inducts New Members

The Township of Huntington Softball Hall of Fame recently held their 35th Annual Induction and Installation Dinner at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport. The six new inductees have a combined total of 170 years of playing softball on many teams in the Town of Huntington, and were presented with awards marking their achievements. This year’s new inductees are Greg Croft of Northport, Bill Wesnofske of Dix Hills, John “Muggs” Gerardi of Huntington Station (awarded posthumously), Mike Zeis of Greenlawn, Glenn Ketcham of East Northport, and Harvey Denis of Melville. Recognized with the President’s Award was Hall of Fame member Dave Hobart of Melville, for his outstanding and dedicated service.  Dr. Ray Mascolo, an East Northport dentist, was presented with the Sponsorship Award in recognition of his generous support of Hall of Fame activities. The 2014 Softball Hall of Fame Officers are President Pete Gunther Jr., Vice President Sal Silvestri, Jr., Secretary James Coschignano, Jr., and Treasurer Robert DeAngelis. The Directors are Bill Bicknese, Frank Pagano, James O’Connor, John Cetta, Pam Schultheis, and Pete Misilewich.
