Artist Exhibit: George Gough: Eye See the Light

For 40 years, Gough’s photographs have appeared in magazines like Natural History and American Way and have graced the walls of Skippers in Northport, and Cassis and the Mediterranean Snack Bar in Huntington. A retired international air traffic controller, his photography reflects stolen moments from work and home and a vision of a simpler, more beautiful world. Gough purchased his first single lens reflex camera, a mamiya sekor, when he traveled to Japan and China in 1969. Through the 70s , 80s and 90s, he was schooled in the rigorous discipline of 35 mm slide film, then embraced new creative options with the digital revolution. Gough has a passion for color, light and life. He explores ancient alleyways, flower-strewn meadows, windswept moors, seaside villages, rustic town streets, abandoned gardens, and remote light houses, and invites the viewer to share his romantic vision.
