School Closings and Delays For Friday, January 3, 2014

Cold Spring Harbor School District – Currently on Recess

Commack School District – All schools and offices are closed on January 3 and all activities cancelled due to weather.

Elwood School District – Currently on Recess

Half Hollow Hills School District – Due to the impending severe weather, the district will be closed tomorrow, January 3rd.

Harborfields – Due to the Blizzard warning and inclement weather conditions, Harborfields’ schools will be closed, Friday, January 3, 2014. All after school and evening activities are cancelled as well.

Huntington School District – Currently on Recess

Northport/ East Northport – Based on the weather forecast for tomorrow, Friday, January 3rd all District schools and offices will be closed.  All after school and evening activities will also be cancelled.

South Huntington – Currently on Recess

Note from South Huntington Schools: Although the South Huntington students and faculty are not in session today and tomorrow, your safety is still on our minds. Based on the impending weather forecast we will be closing the central office and district school operations from 3pm today (Thursday 1/2) through the day tomorrow (Friday 1/3). The various athletic contests that were scheduled over the next several days have been rescheduled as follows below.  Stay tuned to the website and be in contact with your coaches regarding any additional unexpected changes to games and matches.   Please be careful during the coming storm and wish your families well.

The buildings will not be open to outside groups today (Thursday 1/2) or tomorrow (Friday 1/3).  It is our hope that buildings will be available for previously scheduled outside use by Saturday.

The Home Girls’ Junior Varsity Basketball (originally scheduled for Thursday) is rescheduled for Saturday, January 4, at 11 a.m. at WWHS.

The Home Girls’ Varsity Basketball (originally scheduled for Thursday) is rescheduled for Saturday, January 4, at 1 p.m. at WWHS.

The Away Boys’ Junior Varsity Basketball (originally scheduled for Friday) is rescheduled for Saturday, January 4, at 12 p.m. at Northport.

The Away Boys’ Varsity Basketball (originally scheduled for Friday) is rescheduled for Saturday, January 4, at 2 p.m. at Northport.

The Swimming Meet (originally scheduled for Thursday) is cancelled and not yet rescheduled.

The Junior Varsity and Varsity Wrestling Meets (originally scheduled for Friday) are still scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.  We hope the roads will be clear at that point and will monitor the weather and clean up accordingly.

All other weekend contest are on as scheduled.
