Students of Washington Drive Learn to Spread Kindness

Students of Washington Drive Primary School recently took part in the character education performance “Have You Filled a Bucket Today” presented by the John W. Engeman Theater of Northport. During two age-appropriate interactive sessions, the theater’s cast of characters, including the Bucket Filling Fairy, Professor Pants and their friends, impressed upon students the idea that it is easy and rewarding to be kind and show love each day.

Throughout the show, actors presented a series of scenarios and encouraged the audience members to identify whether they were demonstrating “bucket-filling” or “bucket-dipping” behaviors. At the conclusion of the performance, students had the opportunity to ask questions of the cast to further their understanding of the topic.
