Gary Melius Owner of Oheka Castle Was Shot

OHEKAGary Melius, the owner of Oheka Castle in Huntington, was shot at approximately 12:30 p.m. today in the courtyard of the castle.

A family member rushed Melius to a local hospital and he was transferred to North Shore-LIJ Hospital.

Suffolk County Police conducted a thorough search of the grounds and the immediate area. The suspect was believed to be wearing a mask.

Melius was shot in the head.  He is in surgery now and was alert and awake prior to going into surgery.
