IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR JEFFERSON PARENTS In The HUFSD

JEFFERSON DISMISSAL UPDATE …

The last child was dismissed at about 4:30.

First update:

Field workers have the pole secured so that we will be able to begin dismissal. They will dismiss buses first, three at a time. Afterwards parents will be able to pick up students who do not take the bus.

Original message:

Due to a damaged electric pole and downed wires on Oakwood Road, Jefferson students and staff cannot be dismissed until the police and PSEG workers deem it safe for individuals to enter and exit the property. At this point, the police are not allowing anyone to enter or exit until the situation is resolved. PSEG workers are on site.

Superintendent Jim Polansky is currently in the building.  He said, “all students and staff are safe and sound. They will be well taken care of until dismissal can occur.”

The school district asks all parents to please be patient. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
