Huntington Blue Devil’s Den Needs Lacrosse Equipment

The Huntington Booster Club’s Devil’s Den is in dire need for lacrosse equipment for J. Taylor Finley Middle School lacrosse players. The Den was created to provide equipment and supplies to any young athlete in need.

Located in the basement of J. Taylor Finley Middle School, the 14×5 foot room is available to serve any student-athlete in grades 7-12. There is currently a dramatic need for lacrosse sticks, large helmets, large gloves, elbow pads and shoulders pads.

Community members willing to help can drop-off items in the Finley main office on any school day or contact Krista McDonald at or (516) 967-4045 or Sue Healy at to arrange for pick-up.

More than 100 seventh and eighth graders are expected to participate in the Finley lacrosse program this spring. Coaches don’t want a lack of equipment to discourage any player from coming out for the team.

While the Devil’s Den is well-stocked, it requires a continuous flow of donated gear. Community members, including alumni, are encouraged to look through their closets, basements and garages for unneeded athletic equipment and related items and contact either Mrs. McDonald or Mrs. Healy to donate the goods.

The Booster Club is committed to assisting athletes who cannot afford to purchase the items they need to participate and compete with their classmates. Coaches are aware of the facility and are encouraged to contact the Booster Club if any of their team members need an item.
