First graders in Ms. Marie Fenter’s class at Washington Drive Primary School thought of a new way to celebrate the holidays this year. Rather than just celebrating the joys of the season in their classrooms and at home, the students chose to bring joy to those less fortunate.
Eager to help others, the students adopted a family in the Harborfields community and constructed cards and wrote heartfelt messages to the family. They also purchased gifts for them to enjoy.
“I truly believe the children understand the meaning of giving to others who may not be as fortune as they are,” Ms. Fenter said. “I am so very proud of them.”
