St. Elizabeth’s Parish Celebrates 50 Years

On Sunday, hundreds of parishioners gathered on a beautiful summer afternoon at the parish of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Melville to celebrate the 50th Jubilee of the parish. Celebrating mass was Bishop Murphy, who was joined by several priests and deacons of the parish during its rich history.  Following the mass, parishioners gathered on the grounds to partake in the parish outdoor reception/picnic. Participants were treated to hamburgers. hot dogs, chicken, and lots of desserts.  During the outdoor reception, Huntington Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia presented Monsignor Frank Schneider with a proclamation from the town celebrating the 50th anniversary of the parish, its past leadership, and its contribution to the community.
