Suffolk County Police arrested a Wyandanch Memorial High School assistant principal after he sent inappropriate texts to students and faculty members. The arrest happened at his home in Northport on March 18, 2013.
Investigations by the First Precinct Crime Section revealed that Assistant Principal Craig Cohen sent several inappropriate texts to various students and faculty members. Some of the messages were sexual in nature and were sent in February and March of this year. Cohen, who has been employed by the high school for approximately eight years, was arrested at approximately 7:10 a.m. as he left his Northport home.
Cohen, 47, was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree and one charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 19.
