Target On Track For October Opening
Target is on track to open it’s doors in October. The new store will be located near the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and New York Avenue.
According to a press release issued by Target Corporate Headquarters, the Huntington store will be approximately 150,000 square feet, and will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the store will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods to further enhance guests’ shopping experience.
Target Huntington is expected to employ approximately 250 individuals. Job fairs for positions are expected to be held during the summer months. Interested persons may also apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks located in all Target stores approximately three months prior to the new store opening.
“Target is excited to expand its presence in New York in 2013,” said Samir Shah, Target’s senior vice president of stores in the Eastern region. “We are committed to being a good neighbor and developing long-lasting relationships with guests and the Huntington community.”
Minneapolis-based Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) serves guests at 1,782 stores across the United States and at Target.com. The company plans to open its first stores in Canada in 2013.
