Town Board News Brief
- The town board has entered into an agreement with Target to locate a Hart bus stop at the Huntington Station Target store property.
- The town of Huntington Youth Bureau will refer individuals who require health and mental health services to Suffolk County Department of Health Service Centers including Pederson Krag, C.K.Post and Dolan Health Center. Suffolk County Health Services will refer individuals to the Town of Huntington Youth Bureau Programs who require Drug and Alcohol treatment and prevention, Sanctuary’s Runaway and Homeless Youth Services and Project EXCEL’S employment programs. In the past these referrals have been an informal agreement between the town and county. This is now a requirement of the New York State Department of Health.
- The town has entered into a rental agreement for the property located at 21 Norwood Road in Northport known as Fuchs Pond Preserve. They will be renting the apartment above the detached garage located at the preserve. Breslin realty appraisal services conducted an appraisal. The apartment will be rented for $900 per month. The rent collected will be deposited into Operating Budget Account A2410. The agreement is for one year with the possibility of a one year extension. The town felt it was in their best interest since the prior licensee has vacated the premises to avoid incidents of vandalism. The person renting the apartment will perform specific services including visual inspection of the premises and adjoining structures.
- The Long Island rebels Youth Hockey will install a high definition camera system at the Dix Hills Ice Rink for the purpose of filming and televising its games via the internet. The town will be authorized to utilize the camera system for recording games, activities and special events held at the Dix hills ice Rink. All expenses associate with installation and maintenance will be paid for by the Long Island Rebels Youth Hockey.
