Raymond Gomez is an artist-sculptor and architect-planner. His art has paralleled his architectural career of 35+ years, while working in the United States, Europe, Middle East and the Americas. Gomez paints from his experience as an architect, exploring structural form and movement, using a variety of techniques, and experimenting with acrylic, oil, collage, and mixed media. He notes, “My paintings express an illusion of motion, energy, speed and perhaps turbulence… I distort the realistic subject to reflect my vision of it… My Race Car Series focuses on the controlled chaos in the car pits.” In his Urban Chaos Series, he enjoys “painting an imaginary wind, pushing building forms, distorting the sky,… and generally reflecting an urban chaotic scene.” In 2006, Raymond Gomez closed his architectural practice in New York City and moved to Long Island. He now resides on the North Shore and maintains his studio at the Yankee Peddler in Huntington Station, New York. Artist Inquiries E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org; website: www.studiogomez.com.
