LUPINACCI VOTES YES ON STATE BUDGET

Lupinacci Says budget produced positive results but process must be more transparent

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I,Ref-South Huntington) weighed in on the budget after voting ‘yes’ early Saturday morning. Lupinacci praised the budget for expanding aid to students seeking an undergraduate degree, but criticized the budget’s secretive and exclusive process.

“While we may not have received the entire budget we wanted, I am happy to announce that we have reached a compromise that I believe will work for all New Yorkers,” said Lupinacci. “However, the entire budget process has been a combination of every dysfunctional and secretive bad habit in Albany and desperately needs to change. We represent the people, and cutting out the legislature from input is wholly undemocratic. Nevertheless, I’m happy to say we increased the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), brought ridesharing to Long Island, and increased funding for improved water infrastructure. I’m confident that these steps will benefit all New Yorkers.”

Assemblyman Lupinacci represents the 10th District, which consists of parts of Suffolk County. For more information, please visit Assemblyman Lupinacci’s Official Website
