Car Crashes into Melville Pizzeria

The Melville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident after a car crashed into the La Focaccia pizzeria on Broad Hollow Road on Sunday, April 15, at about 6:40 p.m. The car struck the corner of the building and shattered a glass panel, injuring a woman sitting at a nearby table. The patient suffered cuts and lacerations and was transported to Plainview Hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad.

Melville firefighters removed the glass pieces and boarded up the window with lumber. Under the command of Chief Chris Nolan and First Assistant Chief David Kaplan, 25 fire/rescue personnel were dispatched with two ambulances, and engine, heavy rescue truck, tactical support unit and paramedic responder.
