Volden Chung has been located, unharmed. A Suffolk County Police Canine officer today located a missing woman who suffers from dementia. A Silver Alert was issued for Volden Chung, 72, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, who was last seen at a residence on Fruitwood Lane in Commack on March 9. An extensive search was conducted by Suffolk County Police Canine Officer William Krolikiewicz and his dog Bema, and the woman was located outside of another residence on Fruitwood Lane in Commack at 11:45 a.m. Chung had been outside overnight. She appeared to be in good health and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. (original story below)
The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert regarding a missing 72-year-old woman.
Volden Chung was last seen at her sister-in-laws house at 8 Fruitwood Lane, Commack at approximately 4:30 p.m. Chung is believed to be on foot.
Chung is described as an Asian woman, 5 feet tall, 110 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was wearing a red jacket, yellow collared shirt, with plaid red, black and gray woolen pants, black sneakers and a Texas Hospital tag on her wrist. Chung suffers from dementia and is visiting from out of state.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the Fugitive/Missing Persons Section at 631-852-6040.
As a reminder, the Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
