Incident: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash
Location: Intersection of W. 21st Street and West Hills Road, Huntington Station
Date/Time: Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 12:50 p.m.
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Huntington Station today.
William Bailey was driving a 1994 GMC Jimmy westbound on W. 21st Street when he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of West Hills Road at 12:50 p.m. Bailey attempted to proceed westbound on W. 21st Street when his GMC collided with a Yamaha motorcycle that was traveling southbound on West Hills Road. The driver of the motorcycle, Mike Guiteau, 21, of 104 Maplewood Road, Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital and was admitted with serious injuries. Bailey, 56, of 5 Jones Lane, Huntington, was not injured.
The motorcycle and vehicle were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252. All calls will be kept confidential.
