Max Weber, a resident of Long Island for the last four decades of his career, was one of the most influential American artists of the 20th century. He is celebrated today for introducing Cubism to America. Settling on the North Shore in 1920, his paintings are evocative of their time and place and reveal his sensitivity to the land and its structures at varying times of the year.
