Suffolk County Police have arrested three people for driving while intoxicated during a sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station this morning.Second Precinct officers, assisted by officers from the First Precinct, Third Precinct and Highway Patrol SAFE-T Section, conducted a sobriety checkpoint on New York Avenue and Church Street between 12:45 a.m. and 3 a.m. This operation was conducted for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while intoxicated. A total of 71 vehicles went through the checkpoint.The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:
* Jonathan Rovet, 25, of 28 Lieper St., Huntington Station
* Daniel Ragone, 26, of 179 Cayuga Ave., Deer Park
* William Jenkins, 34, of 39 Lantern St., Huntington
The above individuals will be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
