If you have ever attended one of Greenlawn Historical Association’s annual events, you know how much effort they put into everything they do. The events they are most known for include their Annual Antique Fair and Pickle Festival. The Antique Fair was held last March and in September many local residents enjoyed the 33nd Annual Pickle Festival. Last year they held the first Annual Pumpkin Festival.
The 2012 Pumpkin Festival was held on Saturday, October 13. The Greenlawn Historical Association provided a wonderful service to the community by holding this event. Admission was free and so were the many activities. There was something fun to do for people of all ages. Activities for the kids included a hay ride and corn maze. There was a flea market and antiques for sale as well as many other vendors. Items for sale in addition to the antiques included fall plants and pumpkins. Food included everything you would want at a fall festival including pop corn, apple cider, sausage and pepper heroes, hot dogs and ice cream. All sorts of baked goods were available including delicious pies, pumpkin breads and cookies.
Local singer Courtney Gallagher performed several times during the day. She performed a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to attend we highly recommend you make the time next year.
