Arrest Made in East Northport Bank Robberies

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for robbing two East Northport banks in the last 7 days.

Alan Lepre, entered the HSBC Bank on Larkfield Road at approximately 9:55 a.m. on the morning of December 28th, and announced a robbery, demanding cash from the teller. The teller complied with the demand and handed Lepre cash. Lepre fled the bank on foot and headed in a westerly direction.

After reviewing the video footage of the robbery, an employee of the bank recognized Lepre as a prior customer.

Detectives determined Lepre was also responsible for a prior robbery which occurred at a TD Bank branch, located at 517 Larkfield Road, on December 21. Lepre was charged with two counts of Robbery 3rd Degree and is being held at the Second Precinct. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 29.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
