Two Men Arrested in Huntington for Selling Alcohol to a Minor

Suffolk County Police arrested two men Friday night after they were caught selling alcohol to a minor during a State liquor Authority check at several businesses in Commack and Huntington Station.

The Second Precinct Crime Section conducted a New York State Liquor Authority check at seven businesses in Commack and Huntington Station last evening. Some of the businesses were selected based on community complaints while others were selected at
random.

Two businesses failed the inspection:
Jenny’s Deli and Grocery 1044 New York Ave. Huntington Station
Hess Express, 5087 East Jericho Tpk., Commack

During the check, Luis Lopez, 50, of 152 Wyman Ave Huntington Station, an employee of Jenny’s Deli and Robert Dispenza 19, of 8 Karin Dr. St James, an employee of Hess Express were arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree for selling alcohol to an underage agent. The businesses will also be referred to the State Liquor Authority.

The five businesses that refused the sale of alcohol to an underage customer were:
US Petroleum, 6077 East Jericho Tpk., Commack
Mishael’s Deli, 1454 New York Ave., Huntington Station
Compruebe Deli, 1415 New York Ave., Huntington Station
Chapi Deli, 139 West Hills Rd., Huntington Station
Los Campos Deli, 161 Depot Rd., Huntington Station

Dispenza and Lopez were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on April 2, 2013.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
