mayokaAccording to Councilman Mark Mayoka, the purpose of the task force is to plan for future disaster scenarios in Huntington.

Statement from Councilman Mayoka:

“I requested the formation of the Emergency Response Task Force committee in the workshop at the last Town board meeting and have discussed the importance of creating such a committee with my colleagues. We need to analyze what worked and what did not work in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and better plan for future disaster scenarios. I welcome Supervisor Petrone to be on the committee since only 2 members of the board can sit on the committee and he is the current Supervisor of the town.”

The other board members will be able to appoint representatives to sit on the committee and remainder of the committee shall consist of disaster planning experts.
