Acura of Huntington, in partnership with the Art League of Long Island, is proud to announce the winner of the most voted-for piece at the Driven By Art exhibition, “Brooklyn Bridge” by Antonio Masi. Masi’s “Brooklyn Bridge,” is just one of his many paintings capturing the beauty and architecture of the New York City bridges.
Following the Driven By Art reception on April 25, the exhibition stayed on display in the Acura of Huntington dealership through the end of the month of May. The exhibition not only brought in car enthusiasts, but art enthusiasts as well, featuring a variety of automobile-inspired photography, mixed media, sculptures, paintings, drawings and more created by ten Long Island artists. Throughout the month, visitors were invited to view the artwork and vote on their favorite piece.
“These artists gave us a view of New York that many of us had never seen before,” said Ray Penza, Sales Manager at Acura of Huntington. “We’ve been absolutely amazed at the beautiful artwork that inspires these artists. We sometimes forget that the streets, vehicles and bridges we drive over were once just sketches on paper, a simple form of art.”
Masi and his family first came to New York City from Italy in 1947, where his love for the city first derived. “I am a student of the bridges I paint,” says Masi. “When possible, I walk every bridge that I paint.” However, it was his grandfather that planted the seed for his passion for bridges. Francisco Masi, Antonio’s grandfather, was just one of the many Italian laborers who assisted in the building of the 59th Street (Queensborough) Bridge.
Acura of Huntington will present Masi with a 7-night Alaskan Cruise on Celebrity Cruise Line.
