What better way to spend a summer evening then to bring the family for a night of delicious food, rides, games and fun at the Fireman’s Fairs and Parades occurring this summer throughout the Town of Huntington, and also supporting your local volunteer fire departments. The parades feature firefighters, marching bands and of course plenty of shiny fire engines.
Kicking off the festivities is the Northport Fire Department which is holding their Fair from July 8 – 13 from 7-11 p.m., at Steers Avenue off Ocean Avenue in Northport Village. This year’s Fair features Free Magic Shows in addition to the traditional rides and games.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department Fair runs from July 16 – 20, from 7-11 p.m. weekdays and 5-11 p.m. on Saturday, at the Stimson School on Oakwood Road in Huntington Station. There will be free Fireworks shows on July 17 – 20, which start at 9:45 p.m. The Fireman’s Parade will be Wednesday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m., on Oakwood Road north to the school.
The East Northport Fire Department will host their Fair on August 7 – 10, from 7-11 p.m. weekdays and 6-11 p.m. on Saturday at the Firehouse on Larkfield Road and Ninth Avenue in East Northport. The Fireman’s Parade will be on Wednesday, August 7, at 7 p.m., on Larkfield Road north to the Firehouse. The parade rain-date is Thursday, August 8.
The Greenlawn Fire Department will be holding their traditional Labor Day weekend Fair on August 29, 30, 31, and September 2 (closed on Sunday) from 7-11 p.m. weekdays, and 6-11 p.m. on Labor Day. The Fair will be held at the Firehouse on Boulevard Avenue off Broadway in Greenlawn. The Fireman’s Parade kicks off on Thursday, August 29, at 7 p.m., on Broadway north to the Firehouse.
