Why We’re Losing the Battle Against Over-Development
And How We Can Finally Win It!

Guest Speaker: Daniel J. Gulizio, Executive Director, Community Planning Center, Inc.

Mr. Gulizio has worked as a professional planner on Long Island for nearly 25 years.  During this time he has served as the Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development for the Town of Islip as well as the Commissioner of the Department of Planning, Environment and Land Management for the Town of Brookhaven.  In addition, Dan has served as the Deputy Director of Planning for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  Dan is currently the Executive Director of the Community Planning Center, Inc. (CPC).  The mission of the CPC is to protect, restore and enhance quality of life, in partnership with the public, for present and future generations.  Dan is a graduate of Colby College and holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Columbia University.  He is also a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law.  Dan has been a member of the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Planners and the New York State Bar Association.
