Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a CVS in Lake Ronkonkoma yesterday.

A man entered the store, located at 729 Portion Road, demanded money and displayed what appeared to be a handgun on November 7 at approximately 5:20 p.m. The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

This robbery has been identified as possibly being connected to the robbery pattern that occurred at businesses throughout Suffolk County during the past two weeks.

During the past two weeks, a man entered eight establishments and pretended to purchase an item. When the employee opens the cash register, the man displays a black handgun and demands cash. The suspect then flees the location on foot, possibly to a vehicle waiting nearby.

The robberies have occurred at seven gas stations located in Dix Hills, Eastport, Calverton, Mastic, North Babylon, St. James and Bohemia as well as at Jamba Juice in Stony Brook. No one was injured during any of the robberies.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin to medium build. He usually wears a dark-colored or gray hooded sweatshirt.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on these robberies or if anyone recognizes the suspect in the attached photo to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
