Councilman Mark Mayoka’s Departing Initiatives

As my time in public office draws to a close I wish to announce my final programs.   In cooperation with Supervisor Petrone I am in the process of creating a Tax Program to assist Small Business owners and individuals, and a Hurricane Sandy Tax Relief Summit that will provide assessment and tax relief to property owners.  The Small Business Resource and Recovery Center was a dream of mine that I was able to make a reality, with the assistance of the Stony Brook SBA and Bernard Ryba we were able to assist hundreds of small business owners and entrepreneurs.

When I visited the senior center this year I was advised that the many seniors who participate in different dance classes would like to have mirrors installed to improve their performances.  Later this month I will be holding a Mirror installation at the Senior Center in thanks to Corky Corcoran who donated the mirrors.

I am excited to announce my second publication in Spanish will be available soon.  The Spanish Edition of the VA and 1^st time Homebuyers Guide.

Small Business Saturday is November 30^th.  Remember to Shop Local!

Please remember the less fortunate when shopping for Thanksgiving this year.  The 15 Food Pantries in town will greatly appreciate your donation.

I will also be proposing a budget amendment for 2014.
