Emergency Responders from the Commack Fire Department and Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps were dispatched to a crash on Scholar Lane near Commack High School, Sunday evening, November 17, at about 6:20 p.m.
The driver of a Nissan Murano was injured after the sports utility vehicle struck a tree, causing heavy damage to the vehicle. The female driver suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to Huntington Hospital by Commack Ambulance. Commack firefighters secured the vehicle and applied an absorbent to the road for a fluid spill. Commack FD responded with an engine and heavy rescue truck, under the command of First Assistant Chief Andy Babajko. Commack Ambulance units were led by Second Assistant Chief Al Groveman.
