Due to the Blizzard Watch issued for Long Island by the National Weather Service, the Suffolk County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will open at 8:00 am today, January 2nd and remain open throughout the duration of the weather event staffed with emergency response personnel.
Suffolk County Department of Public Works has been salting County roads since early this morning and will continue to monitor and respond to County road conditions.
For non-emergency Police calls in Suffolk County, call 631-852-2677. For emergencies call 911. Please do not call a 911 or other emergency telephone lines unless you are in need of assistance with an immediate physical or medical emergency.
If you are homeless and in need of shelter please call Suffolk County Department of Social Services Temporary Housing Assistance Unit, at (631) 854 9517, between 8am-4 pm. After Hours, weekends, and holidays please call the Suffolk County Department of Social Services Emergency Services Unit, at (631)854-9100.

If you’re out of home heating fuel or in need of an emergency burner repair you can call Suffolk County Department of Social Services Home Energy Assistance Program, at (631) 853-8820, between 8am-4pm. Suffolk County Health Centers, Tri-Community and Patchogue, will not be open tonight. All Suffolk County Health Centers will open tomorrow at 12:00.
