Walt Whitman’s Birthplace to celebrate the third annual I Love My Park Day on Saturday, May 3, 2014. I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.For the first project, from 10AM to 12 PM, volunteers will participate in basic site clean-up by raking the law, pruning and trimming bushes, preparing flower beds, planting this year’s flowers, and removing weeds.All volunteers will be asked to meet at the Picnic table area; all ages are welcome. For those participating, please bring gardening gloves and tools.Light refreshments will be provided.

At noon, the site will offer a tour of the historic Birthplace.

Site clean-up will then continue from 1PM to 3PM.
