Firefighters from Halesite, Huntington, Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn and Smithtown battled a blaze at Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse restaurant on Wall Street in Huntington Village, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at about 9:45 p.m. The fire started in the kitchen ductwork and spread up through the roof. Fifty firefighters using six trucks quickly brought the blaze under control. Around 100 customers and employees safely evacuated the restaurant, many leaving their dinners. There were no injuries. The fire closed Wall Street between Gerard Street and Central Street, as fire and emergency vehicles responded on a busy night in Huntington Village. Suffolk Fire-Rescue Coordinators were also dispatched to the scene.
