Man Dies After Single-Car Motor Vehicle Crash In Cold Spring Harbor

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Cold Spring Harbor on Tuesday, May 20. 

An unidentified man was driving a new model Dodge Charger northbound on Woodbury Road near Hawxhurst Road in Cold Spring Harbor when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into several trees on the side of the road at 10:56 p.m. Suffolk County patrol officers responded to several 911 calls reporting that the vehicle caught fire and that the driver was found outside his vehicle on Woodbury Road.

The driver was taken via Cold Spring Harbor Ambulance to Huntington Hospital in Huntington where he was pronounced dead this morning at 1:45 a.m. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
