85 Year Old Man Injured In Hit-and-Run

Robert Hosking, the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Route 110 in Melville, died this morning from injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation is continuing.

Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Melville last evening.

Robert Hosking, 85, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Route 110 whose driver fled the scene at 8:50 p.m. The vehicle was described as green in color with damage to the passenger side front end, side view mirror and windshield.

Hosking, of Melville, was transported via Melville Rescue to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he is being treated for internal injuries and multiple fractures.
