Accident Causes Closure On Jericho Turnpike

Update: Jericho Turnpike has been reopened.

Jericho Turnpike remains closed due to an accident that occurred at about 10:15 a.m. today.

A Jeep Liberty was traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike when the vehicle collided with another vehicle, driven by a 73-year-old male. The man was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital for serious injuries. The two adults in the Jeep were transported to Huntington Hospital for minor injuries.

The accident occurred near Eldorado Drive in Elwood.
