Whaling MuseumThe Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor will host a family-friendly event on Sunday, October 26th  from 12:00-4:00 pm at the Museum and in tented stations at 301 Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor, NY.

This annual event has been expanded this year to include additional craft stations, games of skill and chance, a Spook-tacular Zoo featuring live animals, a chance to venture inside a Haunted Museum, where exhibits will come to life with stranded sailors, spooky ghosts, fog, black lights, and haunted surprises.  Weather permitting, there will be Ghost Tours of historic Main Street highlighting stories and legends behind 19th Century “haunted” sites.

Our Spook-tacular Zoo will include unusual, creepy, and touchable animals. Visitors will get close to tarantulas, scorpions, hairless rats, snakes, lizards, and blue-tongued skinks (with rabbits for the faint-of-heart).  The Zoo is sponsored by Dr. Inna Gellerman’s Spectacular Smiles, with animals being provided by BTJ’s Jungle Pets of West Islip.

Airbrush Tattoos will be available by Fancy Faces by Kathy as well as arts and crafts from Main Street Nursery and baked goods from TASTE in Woodbury.  Other attractions include: several Halloween-themed craft stations and mask-making for all ages; an icky touch table where visitors can feel around for “brains,” and “eyeballs” ; a station to mix fizzy potions and create gooey slime; and a chance to dissect a real owl pellet.

Select attractions and activities are free; other games and activities will require the purchase of tickets. Tickets are $1.00 each or 20 tickets for $15.00.
