March Because Maggie Matters

AMaggie group of concerned citizens from the South Huntington and Huntington School Districts have organized a march on Town Hall brought on by the murder of Maggie Rosales. They describe the purpose of the march “as way of bringing people together for peace and harmony, to remember a life was lost to a violent crime and send a united message that we are not going to tolerate this any longer in our community, the violence needs to stop.”

The tragic death of Maggie and the deplorable manner in which our town officials under the direction of Supervisor Frank Petrone has handled this tragedy seems to be the final straw for a community that has been fed up for a long time.

The march will take place on October 21, 2014, at 5:o0  p.m. prior to the Town Board meeting.  It will begin at the tennis court on the Sabbath Day Path side of Heckscher Park, and continue on to Town Hall.

The leaders of the group are asking you to invite all to come, and to “do this for Maggie and for our children so we can join in unity to march over to Town Hall for their meeting and ask for the security Huntington Station needs to make it a safe place for our children”.
