The Huntington Station community has been promised that there will be immediate action in response to the recent violent crimes in Huntington Station. Residents have made it clear that they no longer want lip service, they want action. In response to the promise made by the town, county and the police department, community members are asking for the Huntington Station police annex to be reopened. They have created a petition to urge those in charge to make this happen.
The petition states, “There is a rising crime rate in our town and stopping it now before it get too much to handle is imperative. We are asking for the police annex to be re-opened. This will give SCPD police faster response times as well as a strong community presence. It is our belief that having an annex so close to the problem will help deter crime as well as place officers in the heart of the problem 24/7.”
