Man Arrested for Robbing East Northport Bank

Nicholas BonoSuffolk County Police today arrested a man for robbing a bank in East Northport this morning.

A man entered the Roslyn Bank, located at 580 Larkfield Road, at approximately 10:30 a.m., and passed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled the bank in a taxi cab that was waiting outside. Police officers from the Second Precinct subsequently tracked down the taxi cab and discovered the subject was dropped off at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station. Officers canvassed the mall and the suspect, Nicholas Bono, 26, of East Northport, was located and arrested by Second Precinct Police Officer Jill Leibowitz and Second Precinct Crime Section Officer Lawrence McQuade at approximately 12:20 p.m.

Bono was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 14.
