The Melville Fire Department responded to reports of a utility pole and wires down on Hilltop Drive and Mount Misery Road on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at about 1:50 p.m. Firefighters arrived and found a truck struck the pole, bringing down the pole and wires. The driver was not injured and was able to self-exit from the wreckage, however the cab of the truck was destroyed. Assistant Chiefs Chris Nolan and Bill Schmitt were on the scene, and PSE&G was notified to respond.
