The Melville Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to a crash on Half Hollow Road near Blossom Street on Wednesday night, October 4, 2017 at about 11:05 p.m. Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to remove the windshield and extricate the driver of a Honda SUV that overturned onto its side. The woman was transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by the Melville Rescue Squad. Melville firefighters and EMT’s responded with two ambulances, a heavy rescue truck, and paramedic first responder units, under the direction of Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
