As of January this year 2018, Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center is bringing a new direction for the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter. After being awarded the contract to manage the cat shelter, a huge undertaking began to transform the building. Little Shelter’s amazing sponsors donated and installed new counter tops, desks and kitchen (provided by Counter-Tech Industries), appliances (provided by the Bonacci family) and more. Teams of volunteers and staff mobilized to renovate and paint the walls and floors of each room, adding cubbies and cat trees. The shelter was ready to open its door and welcome cats, adopters and residents of the Huntington area.

“We’re very excited to let people know we are open and invite everyone to come see the shelter and available cats and kittens. We are open 7 days a week and offer many services to help benefit the community. In the short time we have been open, we have already helped members of the local community with spays, neuters and more.” Commented Little Shelter Director David Ceely. “We can’t thank our sponsors, volunteers and staff enough for all the work that has already been done, and this is just the beginning! There are big plans for the spring when we can renovate the outside of the building and surrounding property. Little Shelter will also host a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at that time.”
