Here at the Cinema Arts Centre we have a whole range of fun and interesting events coming up. Here is a list of some of the great events we have in store for the future:

Sunday August 26th at 6:00 PM we will be having a FREE musical performance by The counterclockwise EnsembleThe Counterclockwise Ensemble is a guitar, strings and percussion quintet that plays contemporary American chamber music. Evoking the mood and spirit of both European and American classical masterpieces, the Ensemble will take you on a sonic journey that draws much of its inspiration from the natural beauty of the American landscape in full bloom and the hearty music of its people in celebration. The current ensemble includes founding members Rich Stein (guitar), Andrew and Rebecca Perea (violin and cello), Glen Saunders (double bass) and Jim Mansfield (percussion).

Wednesday August 29th at 7:00 PM we will be airing the debate between democratic candidates for Governor Andrew Cuomo and Cynthia Nixon FREE of chargeAnyone is welcome to catch the debate in our Sky Room Café where they can also enjoy craft beer, wine, or some delicious treats.

Monday September 10th at 8:00 PM we are having a Movie Trivia Night! Hosted by Daniel French. 60 questions based all around film, actors and actresses, awards, and everything else associated with the world of film. Challenge like-minded film fans in a battle of wits for cash and other prizes. You can form teams, so bring some friends and work together. Feel free to come alone and play solo, or join a team! Tickets are only $5 and available HERE

Thursday, September 20th at 7:00 PM we will be showing an on-screen performance of An American in Paris-The Musical. This is a recording of the Tony Award-winning Broadway show that will be show on-screen in our cinema. Tickets are available HERE

Friday, September 28th at 7:30 PM celebrity chef and author of “My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food”, Lidia Bastianich will be taking part in conversation with Newsday’s food writer Erica Marcus as part of Long Island Litfest. Her memoir takes readers from her life under communism, a dramatic escape across the border and life as a refugee, to her journey to America – penniless – and the launch of her food business. She describes the struggle to open her flagship Manhattan restaurant, Felidia, and all the accolades that followed. Tickets are available HERE and include a copy of her memoir.

Cinema Arts Preview Club: Fall Club memberships are on sale now and offer the unique opportunity for members to see early screenings of 7 films before their New York release. Members have the opportunity to take part in a wonderful question and answer segment after the film with world class critics and filmmakers. Memberships can be purchased online HERE
