Huntington Resident Participates In Financial Firm’s Multicultural Thanksgiving Celebration
From flan and sushi to jerk chicken and samosas, Thanksgiving at Blue Ocean Wealth Strategies is a multicultural celebration! This year, Laurinda Ferreira, a Huntington resident, participated in Blue Ocean Wealth Strategies annual MultiCultural Thanksgiving Luncheon, now in it’s 13th year, to celebrate and give thanks with their diverse “work family” on November 15th from noon to 2 p.m.
Ms. Ferreira brought Roasted Pig from Cafe Sport in Mineola to give a nod to her country of origin. “I loved being able to share my culture and heritage and give thanks to the people I work with day in and day out,” she said.
More than 200 people attended the event and more than 50 international dishes were made to share showcasing food from around the globe including Puerto Rico, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Jamaica, Bangladesh, Haiti, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Albania and more!
Leftover food was donated to Mamas House to help those less fortunate.
